Previous Course Host Testimonial

"Hosting hip workshops with Dr.Alison Grimaldi has been a great pleasure. Communication during the process and the structure of the workshops has been great. Alison is always easy to get in touch with if there are any questions or plans to be made before and during the workshops. The best of all is of course the content of the workshops - it has been so helpful and made Norwegian physios more competent in treating hip patients. Especially the “problem solving days” with live patients has been an “eye opener” for many of the participants. Hosting a workshop with Alison Grimaldi is highly recommended!"

Online Theory

Each of these workshops include 4-6 hours of online theory. This content includes background on pathology, pathoaetiology/pathomechanics and implications for assessment and treatment of the conditions we will cover during the live workshops.

This allows participants time to slowly cover less familiar or technical content, where they can stop, rewind, replay for optimal learning.

Live In-Person Demonstrations

Once we have the background theory covered in the online learning, it's time to get face-to-face. This time is spent developing or fine-tuning the clinical skills required to diagnose and manage a wide range of hip conditions. I will demonstrate assessment and treatment strategies, provide clinical tips and take questions.

Group Activities and Exercises

During my practical workshop days, there will be a mix of group activities and breakout sessions.

It's important that participants get to try key exercises themselves. Feeling these exercises themselves and learning how to self modify and improve their own technique is a great form of kinesthetic learning.

Breakout Sessions

For diagnostic testing and muscle and movement assessments,  participants will breakout for small group practice - usually 3 per plinth/bed. Having a couple of different people on which to perform tests provides exposure to differing body types/presentations. There is also opportunity for each group to discuss their findings, while I move around the room checking techniques and answering questions.

All Inclusions

  • All workshops come with an online theory component - 4-6 hours of content, depending on the workshop. This is ideally completed prior to the live workshop. Three months access to this material is included.
  • Participants will receive a statement of hours completed for the online learning, once the online learning component has been completed and the quiz passed.
  • Each of the face-to-face workshops is usually provided over 8 hours. However, translated courses will be 2 days. Workshops can also be lengthened to 1.5 days for workshops in English but where English is a second language - this allows for a slower paced workshop with more time to process and ask questions.
  • Workshop manuals are provided in pdf format.
  • Certificates for the live workshops are the responsibility of the host.
