Do you have pain over the outside of your hip? Is this pain worse when lying on your side at night, and during walking, particularly up stairs or up hills? Are you wondering if you have gluteal tendinopathy, trochanteric (hip) bursitis or greater trochanteric pain syndrome?
This education and exercise self-help course is developed by Dr Alison Grimaldi, a leading expert in Hip and Buttock pain, and key investigator on a multicentre university trial into Gluteal Tendinopathy published in the British Medical Journal.
Gluteal tendinopathy is the main cause of pain from the soft tissues at the side of the hip. Some people also have trochanteric bursitis and together these conditions are referred to as Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome. These soft tissue conditions are most common in older women but can also occur in men and younger athletes. It is a problem that can interfere substantially with sleep, physical activity, and impact substantially on quality of life.
This rehabilitation program will give you a detailed understanding of this group of conditions.
- The first step is understanding your condition – the different diagnoses and their causes.
- Next, our detailed educational lessons on strategies for managing this condition. These lessons give you the tools to help get this condition under control and keep it at bay for the longer term.
- Onto a multilevel exercise program, progressing from early to advanced level exercises.
